Likhona Skoti — widely recognized in the art world as Ice Breaker Art — is a compelling visual artist hailing from the dusty streets of Cradock/Nxuba in the Karoo. Growing up in the early 2000s, Likhona’s creative journey began at Kude Kwalapha Primary and blossomed during his time at Nxuba Secondary, where his early sketches first came to life. A decisive turning point arrived at J.A. Calata Senior Secondary School, where mentor Mr. Sishuta recognized his talent and inspired him to pursue art with unwavering conviction. Building on this foundation, Likhona’s artistic practice expanded under the guidance of Luthando Ndabeni, evolving from drawing into dynamic acrylic and oil paintings. Their collaboration yielded numerous projects that earned acclaim throughout Nxuba.
